Description

3rd Infantry Division Signal Corps Officer’s Decorated Pipe.

This pipe made of “Imported Briar” wood was used by a 3rd Division signal corps officer, who also was a Freemason. The bowl is decorated with a gilt signal corps collar insignia, and a small, what appears to be a gold masonic emblem.  On the left side of the bowl is a 3rd ID unit insignia about a half inch square, incised and then painted blue and white.  The other side features a simple 5th Army insignia.

Overall length is 5.5 inches, and condition is very good with a small crack emanating from the mouth piece where it joins the pipe body.  Hard to see if you’re not looking for it.

Great wartime souvenir that stayed close this this veteran.S
