This group of photographs were taken by Harold B. Stauffer, USMC, Signal Corps Co.in 1927, when President Hoover made a trip to Nicaragua.

The images show President Hoover and his official party of politicians, military personnel, etc. One shot shows a group of Marines infront of an arch made to commemorate the President’s visit, and on outdoor scene of a large building along the shore with a huge banner with “HOOVER” (welcome) .
