CDV – 1st Lieutenant Joseph Austin Bacon, Was a Corporal in Co. B, that went through Baltimore in 1861. Bacon would have subsequent service in all three of the times the 6th Mass was call for duty; first the 3 months regiment which answered President Lincoln’s call for 75,000 volunteers to defend the Capital before a major battle between the North, and the secession states.  Then enlisting twice more in the 100 day, and 9 month 6th Mass Regiments.
