CDV – Quartermaster Sergeant Cost J. Cannack, 3rd Maryland Cavalry

CDV – Quartermaster Sergeant Cost J. Cannack, Co, “I,” 3rd Maryland Cavalry.  Cannack served from September, 18, 1863, and mustered out in September 7, 1865, at Vicksburg, Mississippi.  The regiment has a few engagements in Louisiana.

Note, a cord with tassel tied to the front of his belt, likely connects with his holstered revolver. His saber hangs by his side.
