Description

CDVs Of General Robert E. Patterson – Civilian Images Post War.  The photo on the left is just post war, and the other C-1875-80. Photographer is, F. Gutekunst, Philadelphia.

Robert E. graduated from the USMA, Class of 1851. Although he left the Army in 1857, he re-enlisted in the Volunteers at the beginning of the conflict and was assigned into the Paymaster Department. Soon after he was commission  Colonel and commander of the 115th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on June 25th, 1862, and resigned in December of that year.

He was brevetted Brigadier General, US Volunteers on March 13, 1865 for “meritorious services during the rebellion”.

Very good – fine condition.
