Collection of U.S. Army Shoulder Loop Eagles, pattern of 1898. Worn between 1898 – 1903, this group of 10 variations, represents about 5 years for collecting singles of as many variants that I could find.
This are all original. Most are pinback, from crude to refined, 2 have sewn-on loops, and one has three brass wires for attaching,
Condition overall is very good to fine, with one having a broken pin, and another missing the pin entirely. I believe a good deal of these are Manila made during the Philippine Insurrection.
I did not break up any pairs, or this would have been a bit larger of a collection. Even found one gold eagle in a general medal lot, but that one went with the lot. More to find, so here is a great start.
