Made during the Allied Occupation in Gorizia, Italy, the crossed musket pistols and 88th Div. clover leaf hanging metal art displays fine machine detailing and engraving.
It is personalized to “Pfc. Harold Moyer, 46063366” of the 88th Div. M.P. Platoon. Also engraved on the bottom of the clover leaf, “GORIZIA ITALY, 1946/47” and the center piece an applied 88th Div. M.P. Co. DUI with inset enamel. There are no makers marks, but on the back of the clover the numbers “23 70 55″ are hand scratched/etched. The dimensions of the hanging metal art measure approximately 8″ wide by 13.75” long from musket tip to bottom of clover.
Condition of this WWII souvenir is Fine. It has light patina, scuffing, marks on metal finish. Moderate wear and scuffing on the applied DUI, enamel is in great condition. All riveted parts and chain links are intact. Overall, a very nice quality Italian Occupation metal art souvenir.
