Flint Nodule With White Covered Crust

Flint Nodule With White Covered Crust, also referred to as noduler chert, found within limestone deposits. In prehistoric times this material was used for various tools, but much later with the advent of flintlock firearms the usage is obvious.

This section is approximately 6.5 inches long. The larger chipped end shows a section of flint.

The nodule of flint came in a military lot without any provenance.

Great for display with western or early military items.
