General Stanley H. Ford’s -William McKinley Signed Commission for 2nd Lieutenant – 1898 – SOLD

William McKinley Signed Commission for 2nd Lieutenant Stanley H. Ford – 1898. Gen. Ford began his military career on 1898, and joined his regiment, the 16th U.S. Infantry as a 2nd Lt.  The commission is boldly signed by President William McKinley, and Secretary of War, Russel Alexander Alger. At the top left is signed by Adjutant General Henry C. Corbin.

Some light wrinkling at the top with some light sporadic staining, overall great for framing. The bottom half inch  or so has been folded under and perhaps was framed at one time.

Complete, and fine for an important American Army officer who became a Lt. General in 1941.

 

Stanley Hamer Ford (1877 – 1961), began his military career as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 16th U.S. Infantry, then in Cuba, on July 9, 1898, and with subsequent promotions through the years, he made the rank of major general in March of 1936,  and retired a lieutenant general on January 31, 1941, after 43 years of service.
