M1874 Palmer Brace System Yoke

M1874 Palmer Brace System Yoke.  Marked Watervliet Arsenal. This is the basic yoke, with shoulder straps, lead straps to buckle loops, and rear straps (one each) for the bags. This shows usage, and some storage wear. Overall clean and supple leather. Developed by 1st Lt. George Palmer, 27th U.S. Infantry, was out on the frontier for some time, having served on the Bozeman Trail.
