Description
Pre Mexican War Brass Belt Plate Marked “57.” A plain brass plate with a single bar to attaching to belt.
The back of the plate has a crudely etched “57” on the back. This is either an equipment number or a regiment (a larger state like New York State).
The front surface of the plate is untouched, showing scratching, and grime. There appears to be a name scratched in on the front as well as the back.
66mm long x 49mm wide.
Good condition.
