Description

Compared to the average image for light artillery that shows up now-a-days, and for that matter, any type of military image from this era, its is an incredible rush to come across the caliber of this.  A 1/6 plate tintype, in its supposed original gutta percha frame/case, captures just about every element you want in a photograph of this period, condition, Colt Navy revolver, 1840 Light Artillery Saber, Lt Art. Shako, nicely posed, expertly hand tinted, and the American flag in the background.

I am still in the process of finding more about this piece.  I know I have seen it before in magazine or book format. Hoping to identify the subject.

Its hard to fault the image in any way, other than the most minimal wear and that which is common to all tintypes.

Simply put, your buying one of the best Civil War images of this category on the market today.  All you need to know is just look.

Overall size height of case is 4.5 inches.

The last image in the group was I took was a reproduced to show how nicely this will reproduce for publication.
