U.S. Navy Pattern 1866 Printed Cloth Ratings Collection. 14 pieces of specialty rates for petty officers and sailor introduced the year after the Civil War ended, and continued to be used into the 1880s. Each on of these cloth ratings were only used as templates for sewing embroidered ratings for wear on the uniform.

From top to botton, and left to right:

• summer & winter Master at Arms.
• winter & summer Coxswain .
• summer & winter Signal Quartermaster.
• winter Captain of the Forecastle
• summer Quartermaster of the Helm.
• winter Captain of the Top.
• summer Gunner’s Mate.
• winter Sailmaker’s Mate.
• ship’s Carpenter’s Mate.

Some with staining, overall in very good collection.  Most of these will range in $65.00 and up, so cheaper as a collection!
