U.S. Patent Office Model For E.L. Perry’s Improved Horse Cover 1864. Made of gutta percha over either canvas or duck material. The model is approximately 9 x 12 inches and has the original patent office tag with it. Included are photocopies of the patent drawing and papers. The Horse Cover states that the improved cover reduced sweating by providing vents to allow circulation of air.
Condition is fine with some weak spots, and should be handled as little as possible.
Great display piece.
From Mike Woshner collection, featured on page 196 in his book, “India-Rubber and Gutta Percha in the Civil War Era.”
