Description
Obviously much scarcer than the enlisted ranks silver variety, is this Sterling gilt plated pin made by Elco Motor Yachts Co. (Electric Boats Division), marked on the reverse, “ELCO/ STERLING/ DESIGN COPYRIGHTED C ELCO NAVAL DIVISION.”
The pin is 2.5 inches long, pin back.
Condition is excellent with 90+% gilt remaining.
Elco Patrol- Torpedo (PT) boats were 80 feet long and made of plywood, seeing most of the fleet being used in the Pacific and Aleutian Islands during WWII.
