Elco made pin for PT- Boat officers in WWII.
Obviously much scarcer than the enlisted ranks silver variety, is this gilt plated pin made by Elco Motor Yachts Co. (Electric Boats Division), marked on the reverse, “ELCO/ STERLING/ DESIGN COPYRIGHTED C ELCO NAVAL DIVISION.”
The pin is 2.5 inches long, pin back.
Condition is excellent with 90+% gilt remaining.
Elco Patrol- Torpedo (PT) boats were 80 feet long and made of plywood, seeing most of the fleet being used in the Pacific and Aleutian Islands during WWII.
