Description
Staff Sergeant Ernest R. Cook of Taunton, Massachusetts received his Silver Star late in the war while serving in the 212th Armored Field Artillery of the 6th Armored Division, being assigned to Lieutenant General George S. Patton’s 3rd Army. I have been unable to obtain a citation for the award, but his is listed in the SS list for WWII.
Cook’s Ike Jacket is in super condition (with a few very small moth holes here and there), complete with collar disks, DUIs (screw back), machine embroidered 6th AD patch, SSgt chevrons, 3 OS bars, and a service stripe. His ribbon bar includes; SS, Good Conduct, American Campaign, and EAME with 4 campaign stars. The Expert Marksman’s badge has ladders for Submachine Gun, Carbine, Machine Gun, Pistol-D, and Rifle. A “Ruptured Duck” is sewn over the right breast pocket.
Included with the Ike is Cook’s dog tags on chain.
A nice historic “Ike” jacket. I have included some research material.
