Description

Identified 110th Field Artillery Officer’s Jacket, Breeches & Campaign Hat. The uniform is named to 2nd Lieutenant Foster T. Fenton.

The listing consists of:

U.S. Army Field Artillery Officer’s jacket identified to Lt. Foster T. Fenton. The jacket also has its original leather belt (belt is marked “FULL GRAIN COWHIDE”), 2nd Lieutenant’s rank insignia on the shoulders along with DUIs. The jacket has screw back U.S. Maryland & 110th Artillery Insignia on the collars, both without maker’s marks. Inside the right chest pocket is the maker’s tag, “A. Jacob’s & Sons Baltimore” where the jacket is named to Fenton and is also dated 7-14-1928. There are some areas of wear and mothing along the cuffs of the sleeves (see pictures), a small area of discoloration on the tip of the right lapel area. Approx. measurements: bottom of collar to bottom of jacket – 30″; shoulder to shoulder – 17″; chest 36″; armpit to end of cuff – 18″.

1911 Pattern Officer’s Light OD Campaign Hat with original chin strap, DUI & Officer’s Campaign Hat Cord. There is some very light wear and a few small areas of discoloration on the campaign hat. The campaign hat cord and acorns have some light toning to the bullion. The chin strap is intact and has some light wear overall. The leather is supple with a small area of stiffening at the center of the strap. The hat is marked on the sweatband by the maker, “Southcomb Baltimore”. Under the sweatband the hat is marked with the original tag that it is a size 7 3/8. The sweatband is in very good condition and has no areas of loose stitching or separation along the seems.

Tan colored breeches, identified to Lt. Foster T. Fenton. The tag inside the pants are marked “A. Jacobs & Sons Tailors” of Baltimore, MD and are dated 7-14-1928. There is some light wear and mothing throughout the breeches, some discoloration on the padding on the lower portion of the breeches and heavier discoloration and markings along the laces and the very end of the breeches. Approx. measurements: Waist – 34″; Inseam – 24″.
