Description
This armband/ brassard was worn by U.S. medical department personnel, along with chaplains and other select non-combatants during WWII. The red cotton cross is zig-zag sewn to the white cotton banding, doubled over and all edges sewn down. Stamped in black ink on the back with “M” & Geneva Convention number “240267.” Also stamping for, “ISSUED BY MEDICAL / DEPARTMENT U.S. ARMY / (then thinning and barely making out Geneva Convention………..”
I have no personal history with this original red cross Medical armband.
4 inches wide.
Some soiling, but very good condition.
