Description
Civil War 1858 Issue Canteen With Sling.
A nice wartime used example with the original linen sling. Smooth sided with tanish gray cover. There are some traces of white paint on one side that are either soldiers unit, or perhaps initials.
The stopper with cork lacks the twine or chain, and appears to be the original. There are no contractors initials on the pewter spout.
Condition overall is very good; ideal for display, with some rust staining concentration on one side, and a few areas on the sling.
