Early 1900s Boxed Engineer Officers Dress Chapeau.

This engineer officer’s dress chapeau is contained in a black faux grained black paper covered box of cardboard, and also including the rain cover.  There is no maker or retailer name on the box or in the chapeau.  The gold bullion eagle is the new pattern 1902. The hat is red silk lined, complete and in excellent condition, with wear confined mainly to the edges of the box.

I can’t imaging improving on the condition of this piece unless it were identified to an officer.
