Description
Military Uniform Plate – 8th Regt. Washington, Greys, NYSM 1853. This print for the 8th Regiment NYSM, or the “Washington Greys” shows mounted officers, and enlisted (both in dress and undress or fatigues). Their headgear is a mounted style cap with crest, similar to 1st City Troop, Philadelphia Cavalry (without leaf embellishments).
This came originally from a uniform plate book for New York State Militia uniforms which I have never seen for sale complete.
9 x 12 inches, heavily trimmed all around, and paper is toned to a light tannish/ brown color.
