Description

WWII German Propaganda Leaflet To British Soldiers Dated 1944.

During WWII, with all of the U.S. military personnel in Great Britain, there existed the saying, “The Yanks are over fed, over paid, and over here.” The American’s adopted a similar saying, “The Brits, and under fed, under paid, and under Eisenhower.” Surely though there must have been great concern with British troops fighting in North Africa, and later in Northern Europe, while Americans were training in GB, getting ready for the invasion.  There were over 77,000 marriages during WWII of Americans to English women.  It seems the Germans know this whole scenario could work to their advantage in the propaganda war.

The front side of this leaflet address the problem, with the battlefield grave of a British soldier, and on the back, a nude English sweetheart is in relations with an American G.I.  How much affect these leaflets had I don’t know, but must have raised some fears, or irritations on the part of our closest allies.

The leaflet measures nearly 6  x 3.5 inches.

One small tear top center, light wear, and very good overall.

A great example of German Propaganda from WWII.
