Description
Collection of G.A.R. & UCV Lapel Flags, Banners, Etc.
This little collection was assembled, and has no personal history. The 12 pieces represent different lapel pins and other badges and insignias used by both the G.A.R. and the UCV (United Confederate Veterans). There are four blue printed pieces showing the G.A.R. membership badge, and how they were used I’m not sure. 2 x 2 3/4″.
5 patriotic G.A.R. lapel pins 1 1/2 x 2″ (paper), with 4 being different.
The one paper badge depicting the Federal shield with GAR stamped on it, is 2″ high, no including the pin.
Two nice confederate examples are included; one lapel pin being one of the1st Pattern Confederate Battle flags, and the other the later Stars and Bars, made for the “Jackson Monument Day / May 1st, 1914.” The pin is affixed in the way that allows movement, and is 1 inch square.
Condition is fine overall, and all are original.
