Description

Infantry Horn Shaped PRIZE Field Day Medal, 1835.  A large rounded infantry horn with loop for wearing suspended by chain for ribbon. A shield is inserted at center with engraving, “PRIZE Field Day, June 27th, 1825.”

The metal appears to be silver, and has some other engraved embellishments on the horn bell and mouth piece.

Believe this to be American, purchased in Pennsylvania.

Width is 2 1/4 max.

Fine condition.
