Civil War Triple Border Cavalry 1st Lieutenant’s Shoulder Straps

Civil War Triple Border Cavalry 1st Lieutenant’s Shoulder Straps.  A respectable pair of cavalry officer’s shoulder straps showing age toning, and wear, mostly to the twisted wire which has come loose in a few places.  No history with these unfortunately.  With any hard service, lemon-yellow color wool had a tendency to fad, as this pair exhibits.  These are bigger than regulation size, being 2 3/16 x 5 inches. backed with a thin layer of leather, with the black wool base sewn over.  An partial period sales label remains on the back of one strap. Just a little work to repair the wire, or not.
