Civil War Major’s Regulation Overcoat, cape and detached velvet collar. Another scarce piece of Civil War clothing is this regulation officer’s overcoat with the original detachable cape and velvety collar. Complete with all the mohair quatrefoil of three band representing a mojor’s rank with all the mohair buttons.

The overcoat is in excellent condition. This is for sale currently, but due to the lack of time to include a good description with several shows coming up every weekend, it not sold prior with be displayed at the Maryland Arms Collectors Show in Baltimore this March (Timonium, Md.). I hunted for one of for years.

Provenance: My understanding that this coat came from Don Troiani, (after replacing this with an identified overcoat), to Jan Wade.
