Portrait Photos of Rear Admiral Albert S. Barker & The Destroyer They Named After Him. The nice large portrait of the admiral is 11×13.5 and taken when he was the Commander in Chief – North Atlantic Fleet aboard USS Kearsarge. The other smaller photo is the Clemson-Class destroyer USS Barker, name after him.  The Barker was commissioned on 27 December, 1919, and decommissioned just before the close of WWII, on July 18, 1945.

Admiral Barker (1843-1916), had served in the Civil, Spanish American Wars,   I have included bios on both him and the destroyer.
