Civil War Era Pocket Knife Made By C. Pearce -Blade marked THE SAILORS FRIEND.  Single blade, approximately 3.5 inches long. Iron body with brass lanyard loop, and stag grips.  Blade shows normal use; a good sturdy piece.  This would have been a private purchase item, and could have been used by navy or commercial seamen.
