Description
This great illustrated countertop coffee advertising tin appears to be made C-1890s, give or take a few years, and was made by the Chicago Stamping Co., Chicago, Il, for the J. WELLAUER & COMPANY, MILWAUKEE. The ROGERS MiLLS aspect to this tin is still a mystery as I can’t seem to find where it might be.
The scalloped front is approximately 12 inches high by 8 inches deep, with black japanning all round except the front with is finished with gold lettering, red accent shadowing on lettering and graphics with the edges done in a red japanning. A brass knob is mounted on the lid.
The chromolithography center art work of a lady is in full color.
Condition overall is very good, with typical little dings, scratches, and general wear. A wonderful addition to the country store collection, or simply as an accent piece.
