1/4 Plate of two Infantrymen in Hardee Hats well armed. They almost could be mistaken for brothers. The one on the left is a sergeant, and is wearing a modified Hardee, still keeping the Ostrich plume in place. I can’t make out the number within the infantry horn insignia. The other soldier is wearing his Hardee as issued. Both are in Federal pattern frocks, cartridge boxes, waist belts, bayonet scabbards while holding their rifled muskets with bayonets at attention. All photographed in front of a makeshift photographers backdrop.
The sergeant is triple armed with musket, bowie knife and a navy sized revolver.
Some moisture spotting on the underside of glass. The gilt matting is not bent out of shape. The leatherette case is broken at the hinge and missing some leather at that side, wear near the closing hooks.
Overall a great triple armed -double image.
