A small but well designed cavalry reunion badge for the 15th PA. Cavalry’s 27th reunion.
The badge is 2 inches high with a pin brooch of bronze reading 27th Reunion. The main body of the bronze badge incorporates great detail showing a McClellan saddle, carbine, and saber, with the letters “P,V. & C” used at various positions. The regimental number is found on the hooded stirrup.
A yellow silk ribbon shows wear but still sound and holding sections firmly.
A nice badge, not commonly seen.
This unit fought at Antietam, and letter went west to join the Army of the Cumberland and participated in many engagements there, notably the Battle of Stones River, Murfreesboro, Tn.
