Description
1839 Hancock Light Infantry Quick Step Sheet Music.
This piece of sheet music is the first this week (11/17/22) of two for the Hancock Light Infantry. I have offered in the past, another for this company dated 1841, showing different headgear and uniform in each of the three (the other listed this week is dated 1844).
This hand colored cover litho shows a lone soldier with musket, and a stove-pipe shako with sunray plate, and a blue coatee trimmed in red. The music was dedicated to Capt. Louis Dennis and the officers and members of the unit by Wm. Isenbeck. The music was performed by the Boston Brigade Band on parade, Oct. 28th, 1839. Has the sheet music as well.
Published by Geo. P. Prentiss, No 33, Court St., Boston.
Nice color, and very good + condition with light soiling/ staining. Still suitable for framing.
