Description
1902 Era General Officer’s Sword Sash. This came in a lot of U.S. general officers collection. A departure of the usual American sash, this example appears to be of English manufacture (my opinion), as I have observed many of this type in red for British line officers groupings. The sash may have been purchase through an American military clothier, or purchased while on temporary duty during the early part of the 20th Century.
Overall condition is very good, with some light staining and wear. The sash at the buckle connection is backed with gold silk, and the same gold silk is used on the tassels, for what purpose I am unaware of. The English sash is a much easier way to wear the sash.
Width is approx. 3 inches.
Condition is very good, and yellow gold color is fine.
