BOSTON / A GUIDE BOOK By Edwin M. Bacon, With Illustrations and Maps.  Boston, 1903.  190 pages.  8 color map plates. Hard cover, illustrated with Civil War soldier,  Gold embossed ” For What He Was And All He Dared Remember Him Today,” Compliments Of The Department of Massachusetts Grand Army Of The Republic.”  The first 7 pages are GAR related; the rest of the book is purely guide book.

Inner flyleaf presentation to, “Edwin G. Lord / August 24, 1904″  / From / John C. Fowler / East Richmond / Va.”  Lord was a member of the 1st Mass Cavalry, enlisted in late September, and discharged for disability in late November of the same year.  Don’t have any information on Fowler.
