Description

This is the typical insignia you will find on officer’s Hardee Hat insignia; the eagle was used to hold up folded brim, and the crossed cannons went on front.

The “Hardee Eagle”  is made of different styles of bullion threads, and wire, and the liberal use of sequins. The eagle (2 1/2″) has a three dimensional effect; a real looker. It has no mounting loops on back, and never did, and does show some signs of having been sewn on a hat.

The oval is the same, in that it too never had mounting loops.  It is a typical design of insignia commonly seen for artillery officer’s, just better condition than the commonly found example.  Being nearly 3 3/4″, this could have been sewn on a slouch hat as well.

Overall fine examples.  This is assembled pair of sew-on insignia.
