A worn disc for this 3rd Division regiment from WWI.
38th Infantry Regiment repelled a strong German attack near Mézy, France, across the Marne River in July of 1918. The 3rd Infantry Division’s nickname became “Rock of the Marne” as a result of that units stubborn defense, and led to the successful Allied advance.
A used disc with typical worn on the high surfaces blending original finish with a natural toned brass. No markings, and has thumb screw.
Very good condition.
