Fastened in the British style using a cotter pin.
This very rare, un-hallmarked 349th Infantry Regiment DUI is smaller than the typical 349th pieces encountered and a bit more narrower. The color of the yellow diagonal stripe is a pale- almost buff in color. The most distinguishing feature is the use of a British style cotter pin to hold the DUI to the uniform. Although not hallmarked is certainly is no stretch to say this maker was also engaged in provide the British 8th Army with plenty of its insignia etc. The banner at the bottom reads, “LIBERTY AND RIGHTS.”
First one I’ve had.
