Description
88th ID distinctive insignia worn by troops stations at various outposts on the Morgan Line, at Venezia Giulia, Italy in 1946. This line was established to protect Italy against the Communist under Tito from Yugoslavia. 88th troops also were stationed in the City of Trieste. This was the American military’s first actions in the Cold War.
A rare insignia, hallmarked “ART MILITARI / VDINE.”
Very good condition with some light corrosion to the top area of the insignia, No enamel lost.
