Description
The 93rd Armored Field Artillery Battalion, served in the Mediterranean and ETO Theaters during the WWII, as a separate unit, mostly attached to the various Corps in those theaters. In Italy, they supported the 3rd, and 88th Divisions while in the Italian Campaign, and after the Invasion of Southern France, continued to support the 3rd, 45th and other infantry division, again, falling under Corps commands.
This uncommon distinctive insignia is hallmarked, A. Augis, a French made insignia, and could very well have been made during the war.
33mm, screw back.
Fine condition.
