Description
CDV – Corporal Peter Lang 96th New York Volunteers.
Full standing full of Lang in frock coat, and holding forage cap with applied insignia. A signature in what appears to be period may be Lang’s. Lang enlisted as a corporal into Company K, in November of 1861, and later received promotions to sergeant and 1st sergeant by May of 1865. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in August of 1865, but was not mustered at that rank.
No back mark.
The image is in very good – fine condition, with some chipping along the lower edge of image.
