Description
CDV – General Samuel P. Heintzelman.
Standing view of Brigadier General Heintzelman taken by Brady, and published by Anthony, New York. He was an army officer who had seen service in the Seminole and Mexican Wars, and was a prominent commander in the early part of the war in the East as 3rd Corps commander. After the war he reverted back to regular army rank of colonel, and spent some time in the Reconstruction army in Texas after the war. He retired in 1869, and granted promotion to major general.
Very good condition.
