Description
This full standing view of a private in the 3rd NYS regiment, holds his musket with bayonet at parade rest. He has his accoutrement belt on with the “3” on the buckle. The shako is the taller variety worn before and during the war. He poses in front of a painted backdrop that appears to be a Hudson River scene. Photographed by Weston’s, Near Cooper Institute, NY (Cooper Institute was located on 8th Street, NYC).
There is a bit of damage on the photo, with some quick repair done some time ago. Otherwise very good.
Michael McAfee Collection.
