CDV Of Captain & Quartermaster Samuel R. Fithian 24th NJ Volunteers, photographed by F. GUTEKUNST, Philada. Signed, “Yours truly / Sam’l R. Fithian,” on the mount.
Fithian enlisted on the 16th of Sept., 1862 as captain an quartermaster in the 24th New Jersey Infantry. He mustered out with the regiment on June 29, 1863.
He served with the regiment during the battles of Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville.
Very good-fine image with clipped corners.
