CDV Signed By Major Joel A. Fithian 24th New Jersey Volunteers. No photographers back mark. Signed, “Yours Truly / Joel A. Fithian.”
Commissioned into the Field and Staff of the 24th New Jersey Infantry on September 16, 1862, and mustered out on June 29, 1863. Fithian was commissioned into the US Volunteer Paymaster’s Department on May of 1864, and mustered out in October of 1865.
Nice pose of arms crossed wearing gauntlets, and field boots.
The signature in on the lower mount, with the last letter affected by the clip on the corner.
Condition is very good.
