CDV -Signed Image For Henry D. Trask -Co C 4th Mass Cavalry.

Henry Dagett Trask enlisted in September of 1861, as a private in the 1st Mass Cavalry, mustering in with company “L”, and transferred out on February 12, 1864 into the 4th Mass Cavalry.  Trask was discharged for promotion in November of 1864, then with the 1st Mass Cavalry in Florida, becoming 2nd Lieutenant in the US colored Troops 2nd Cavalry, mustering out in February of 1866.  During the war he held additional rank of corporal, sergeant in the 1st Mass.; 2nd Lieutenant, Captain by brevet, and 1st Lieutenant by war’s end.  Good unit combat history.

Trask is seated in sack coat with service stripe, not showing any rank.  Signed on the back, “Henry D. Trask /Co. C 4th Mass. Cavalry.”
