CDV – Standing View Major General Nathaniel Banks. Pencil note on the reverse from someone who served under him, “Fought under him through (Tiche) Campaign, Red River and Texas all to my sorrow.”

Standing view in full dress uniform.  He was a Massachusetts politician and general during the Civil War, principley known for commanding the Department of the Gulf.
