Description
Chinese Hallmarked Marine Dragon Silver Cigarette Case & Tientsin, China Belt Buckle overlay.
The cigarette case has the maker marks inside, and the buckle has none. The dragoon and ball are the theme on the front only, and the buckle was originally on a main belt buckle, but has fallen off somewhere in the past. The buckle is dated 1946; silver metal (may be silver or plate – there are no hallmarks.
There was no history with these other than they came out of USMC China Marine collection, consisting of rings, insignia, and other items from the WWII to Pre Korean War era.
The outside of the silver case has some wear, scuffing and toning throughout. The locking mechanism works nicely and the hinges move well.
Measures approx. 4″ x 3″ x 3/8″ (case). 1 5/8″ x 2 1/4″ (buckle).
Weighs approx. 112 grams
Both are in fine condition.
