Fine silver bullion workmanship for an American field grade officer of either cavalry or infantry. The fringe is 1/4 wide. There are 3 different widths of bullion attop the fringe, with the fringe being gathered beneath. The underside is white silk, which is a complete restoration of the original silk which was nearly gone.
6 inches from tip of outer shoulder. No buttons. Still has the linen tie downs for mounting on the uniform.
Some wear and toning to the silver, but overall is fine.
A nice quality pair of epaulets from the first quarter of the 19th Century.
