City Guard “Euretta Polka” 1850 Sheet Music.
The Old Guard of the City of New York was established in 1826. It later was consolidated with the New York Light Guard (est 1833) in 1868, but here captured in their dress uniforms for the 1850 period. A very stylish coatee of white with red trim, and gilt bullion accents. Note the NYS insignia of the globe and eagle used on the tails of the coatee.
Published by Jaques & Brother, Broadway.
Has the original music attached.
Fine condition. Some soiling around the edges, and most suitable for framing. A gorgeous chromolitho.
