Photographed by the Oriental Photograph Company, Gettysburg, Pa. BATTLE-FIELD OF GETTYSBURG Series. This view entitled “Group of Dead, Devils Den.”
This photograph was taken in November of 1863, about the time of President Lincoln’s visit to Gettysburg to deliver his famous speech, “the Gettysburg Address.” This photos in the series were staged with local citizens dressed in Union and Confederate uniforms. Note the lack of leaves on the trees in the background on Little Round Top.
Very good + condition.
